Rio Grande County Sheriff's Office in Colorado is looking for motivated, community oriented patrol and detention deputies. If you are a conscientious, detail oriented individual seeking to improve law enforcement relationships with the community while answering calls for service as well as perform pro-active patrolling or inmate care, we'd like to talk to you!
We are a small law enforcement agency in southern Colorado covering 912 square miles serving 11,539 residents. If you enjoy rural areas with easy access to the mountains and outdoor recreation, come join our team! We offer a competitive pay and benefits package for our area and a lower cost of living compared to large cities, as well as a scholarship program for our detention deputies who want to attend the local POST Academy.
All deputies are provided uniforms. Patrol deputies are assigned take home vehicles. Deputies may live in Rio Grande County or adjacent counties. All of our employees have the opportunity to attend training, as well as a variety of career choices. Overtime pay is available. Employees participate in the County retirement plan and earn annual, sick, and holiday leave.
